Brooks Koepka scolded reporters last week for throwing a "dark cloud" over the U.S. Open with LIV Golf Series questions.

Koepka eventually left the PGA Tour for the upstart golf league less than a week later.

He probably received a sizable sum of money for leaving the PGA Tour, though the amount hasn't been disclosed.

On Tuesday night, he withdrew from this weekend's Travelers Championship. Today's PGA Tour statement.

Given that Koepka made it plain he was going, supporters couldn't help but laugh.

Kyle Porter, a golf reporter, stated that Brooks Koepka is a WD from the PGA Tour.

Another fan joked, "Hope he's okay" after hearing the news.

A third supporter remarked in a mocking tone, "This could be for anything."

PGA Tour bans LIV Golf Series players. Koepka hadn't done so, therefore he might have played in the Travelers Championship.

Chase Koepka joined the Saudi-backed league initially. Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau all joined.
