Dolly Parton will be at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion in Little Rock today to celebrate her Imagination Library's statewide expansion.

At around 6:30 p.m., Arkansas PBS will live broadcast her brief musical performance and chat with Craig O'Neill of KTHV-TV via myarpbs.org/imaginationlibraryevent.

Parton's Imagination Library provides free books to children from birth to five years old.

Since 2017, the Imagination Library has collaborated with local communities to expand the programme from 54 to all 75 Arkansas counties.

From 16,700 in 2017 to over 56,800 in 2018, Arkansas youngsters are receiving books monthly

"My Daddy told me before he died that the Imagination Library was the most important thing I ever did.

Parton says she loves to read on the Imagination Library website (imaginationlibrary.com).

That meant a lot to me because I built the Imagination Library as a memorial to my father.

"I knew the smartest man I ever met, yet I know his inability to read held him back," she writes to her readers.

Her visit is part of a statewide celebration of her Imagination Library, which is being held this week.
