Friday marks Alabama softball's 17th consecutive NCAA Tournament regional at Rhoads Stadium (3 p.m. CT, SEC Network).

Tuscaloosa's Crimson Tide owns the nation's longest win run at 43 games.

The three-day double-elimination tournament will include Alabama (41-11), Stanford, Murray State, and Chattanooga.

The winner will face the winner of the No. 11 Knoxville regional.

Alabama hasn't played Chattanooga (29-25) since the 2011 regional tournament, but coach Patrick Murphy acknowledged their talent and youthful coaching staff.

He also said he was excited for the postseason tournament to start.

Murphy hopes to score early. "Our pitcher needs a good start, good defence, and a critical hit."

The Lady Mocs have won their first Southern Conference Tournament.

If Alabama wins, it'll play the Stanford-Murray State winner at 2 p.m. Saturday. If Alabama loses, they'll play 4:30 p.m. loser.
