Karthikeya 2 Story Review
As a result of his beating up the mayor for performing yagam in the intensive care unit, Karthikeya (Nikhil Siddharth), a doctor, is suspended from the hospital. In order to prepare him for mokku, his mother takes him to Dwaraka in Gujarat.
An archaeologist in Dwaraka describes Karthikeya as the savior and chosen one to complete a mission to save the world before he breathes his last. As a result, Mugdha (Anupama Parameswaran), the archaeologist’s granddaughter, rescues him and they begin examining the mysterious incidents surrounding the incident. The team discovers that Lord Krishna’s anklet is protected by a secret society.
Artistes’ Performances
Nikhil has executed the role in the best possible manner as an actor. Despite the fact that the role requires him to perform simple functions, he does so neatly and efficiently. It is more of a companion of Nikhil than Anupama Parameswaran is, much in the same way that Srinivasa Reddy and Harsha Chemudu are to Nikhil.
However, she only appears in one or two scenes. In terms of Aditya Menon’s role, little clarity exists. He plays the role of a blind professor, who leaves a lasting impression during the closing moments of the film.
Deep Analysis
As soon as Chandoo Mondeti’s “Karthikeya” was released in 2014, it stunned many with its compelling narration and compelling theme. All commercial elements were present in this riveting thriller. A substantial amount of content and narration is provided in the first part.
Unlike the first film in the franchise, the second film in the franchise takes place in a completely different setting and has an entirely different mission for the protagonist. Similar to the first part, the protagonist is the same Karthik who believes in science rather than religion. “Karthikeya 2”, however, is concerned with the conversion of Karthik from a non-believer to a believer.
The production is geared towards pan-Indian audiences, especially Hindi-speaking ones, and incorporates a significant amount of Hindu mythology and religious concepts. As of late, Hindi audiences are becoming more and more accustomed to films that promote Hinduism, the culture, and the history of our country. It is evident that “Karthikeya 2” is a calculated effort.
It is noteworthy that Chandoo Mondeti has incorporated historical and mythological references into his story, which has a good deal of drama and suspense. With the addition of elements from “The Da Vinci Code,” it follows the same trajectory as Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones series.
A significant amount of time is spent in the film in order to reach its conclusion. It is a loose first half. In the second half of the narration, the narrative becomes more gripping. While the story makes its way to different geographical locations, the grand visuals and visual effects captivate the audience. It is through this story and the mystery surrounding a telescope and a metal statue of a peacock that we are drawn into the mystery surrounding Lord Shri Krishna’s anklet.
There is, however, a lack of consistency in the overall graph of the film. Throughout its journey, it has had many ups and downs. Similarly, Gopichand’s “Sahasam” follows a similar narrative progression. It’s a bit like déjà vu.
There are a few faults in this film, however, the final moments make up for them all and the grander is another plus. I thought the film was an engaging watch, especially in the second half, and the production values were excellent. Although the film is riddled with logical and narrative inconsistencies, it remains a watchable film.
Plus Points
Despite the fact that Nikhil and Chandoo Mondeti enjoy success with their previous projects, they have done it yet again with Karthikeya 2. My compliments go out to director Chandoo Mondeti for coming up with an intriguing thriller, which is able to link the past and present quite well. In addition to fine writing, he makes sure to provide the audience with moments of thrills and suspense.
We have not seen Nikhil on screen for some time, and his performance fills the void in an impressive manner. With respect to his acting, he has matured greatly and has become quite settled in his approach to the role. He plays a very important role in convincing the audience that the information presented is real and not fabricated. As far as this department is concerned, Nikhil receives a perfect score. One of the most surprising aspects of the film is the music composed by Kaala Bhairava.
A spellbinding BGM elevates the film to an entirely different level as he shocks the audience. Despite the fact that the scenes may be ordinary, the enchanting background music always creates an interest for the audience. Besides providing thrills, the director has added fun by casting Srinivasa Reddy and Viva Harsha, both of whom demonstrate strong performance skills.
Despite being given a small role in this film, Anupama Parameswaran is neat and efficient in it. The film contains a small but impactful role for Anupam Kher, in which he shines. I find Karthikeya 2 to be particularly intriguing due to the mysterious aspect of what will happen next.
Throughout the film, the audience is held captive by the quest to discover the truth. There is little deviation from the main theme of the film, and the director is able to keep the audience engaged throughout most of the film.
Minus Points
In spite of the fact that all the links are properly terminated, there is a bit of confusion at the beginning of the film. Lord Krishna, as well as the concept of the present generation seeking a special Kankanam, are poorly understood. Maybe the director should have added a character or a few scenes in order to help the audience understand what the plot actually is about.
It is evident that the pace of the film slows in the second half due to the failure of the director to elevate the villain’s perspective properly. It is important to note that the story proceeds through several stages and the narrative could have been presented in a more accessible manner to make it more accessible to the general public.
