Death Race Movies in Order Full Detail
Death Race 2000 Movie (1975)
Death Race 2000 is a 1975 cult action film. It features contestants running people down as they speed through the country, scoring points when they run them down. Fans have become enthralled by the sport and sacrifice themselves for the drivers.
Attempts have been made by a covert group to end the immoral Death Race, which has infiltrated a follower as a navigator of the race’s leading driver. The short story “The Racer” by Ib Melchior provides the basis for the screenplay, in which the lives of the competitors, the president, as well as the Death Race itself, are in danger.
Death Race (2008)
Although director Paul W. S. Anderson stated in the DVD commentary that he thought of Death Race as a prequel, Death Race is a remake of Death Race 2000 from 2008. There is a collapse of the US economy in 2012, which results in higher unemployment rates and increased crime rates as well as an increase in convicted criminals, leading to the privatization of prisons.
Hennessey (Joan Allen), the warden at Terminal Island Penitentiary, earns a living from the pay-per-view broadcast of the Death Race, a modern gladiatorial game that involves prisoners. A three-part race is conducted over three days on Terminal Island by the racers and their navigators, utilizing various pressure plates on a closed track.
In addition to offensive weapons, shields contain defence weapons such as oil, smoke, and napalm, while skulls (Death Heads) activate deadly metal traps that spring from the track. As a reward, Warden Hennessey will grant the freedom of one racer if he wins five races.
Death Race 2 (2010)
A prequel to the 2008 film Death Race, Death Race 2 is a prequel to the film. During a robbery for his crime boss Markus Kane, getaway driver Carl “Luke” Lucas (Luke Goss) is arrested after his robbery goes wrong. Two police officers casually enter the bank as his accomplices are robbing it. Despite his advice that his accomplices abort, they refuse. Luke intervenes, killing one of them.
To fulfil Markus’s wishes, Luke shoots a police officer and dumps off his accomplices. After a high-speed chase, Luke is caught by the police and sentenced to serve time on Terminal Island. In response to Markus’ concern that Luke might trade information on his crimes for immunity, he discovers Luke’s location and instructs his men to eliminate him.
Death Race 3: Inferno (2013)
It has been determined that the rights of the Death Race have been transferred by hostile takeover to Niles York (Dougray Scott), a British billionaire who acquired the rights via hostile negotiation. The Death Race will be relocated to the deserts of Africa, according to York.
In preparation for his departure, Weyland arranges Lucas for surgery to heal the infected and deadly scars on his face sustained in Death Race 2. In an effort to prevent Carl Lucas, a.k.a. Frankenstein (Luke Goss), from achieving freedom, York coaches him to lose the race and threatens to kill him if he does not comply with his commands.
Death Race 2050 (2017)
In February 2016, Corman began filming Death Race 2050 as a sequel to his first film in Peru. The film stars Malcolm McDowell, Manu Bennett, Burt Grinstead, Marci Miller, Folake Olowofoyeku, Anessa Ramsey, Yancy Butler, and Charlie Farrell, and was directed by G. J. Echternkamp. There were three making-of documentaries included in the DVD and DVD/Blu-ray release of the film on January 17, 2017, including: The Making of 2050, The Look of 2050, and The Making of 2050.
